I've worn glasses since I was in 7th grade. That's 11 years. Each year, my eyes have gotten progressively worse. I started wearing glasses only to look at the board, then to read, then all the time. Each year my perscription gets stronger and stronger. Either last year or two times ago, I suprised my eye doctor with how much worse my eyes got in one year.
They didn't change at all this year. Not one bit. Exact same perscription. And, funny thing is, I could have sworn my eyes had gotten blurrier in the past month. But, nope; they're fine.
I'm really happy about that. :)

Date: 2003-04-04 04:27 pm (UTC)sadly, it hasn't been the case for me. he does think that the whole sheer volume of reading i do thing probably has something to do with it, but it's really only been the last two years that my Rx hasn't changed dramamtically each year. it still changes each year, but it's not plummeting downhill at a terrifying rate anymore. however, it hasn't exactly leveled off either, and, um, i'm definitely not in my 20s anymore.
so congrats serafine and sullivanlane. y'all are both v. lucky.

My mom still hasn't leveled out (at 53) but I haven't changed for four years (knock on wood) (at 27) so I'm hopeful that I won't be legally blind. And, I really really love my disposable contacts, so it could be worse. Still hoping that my candidacy (sp? is that a word?) maintains itself.
