You know what I hate? When people take an aspect of themselves and use it to justify or explain why they don't like something. Or do like something, for that matter.

"I'm a straight woman, so I don't like slash." (or am not interested in two men having sex)

"I'm a teacher, so I don't like teacher/student relationship stories." (this one I really hate becuase I do, and it makes me feel like I should be ashamed or something.)

"I'm a lesbian so I don't like slash."

"I'm a girl, so I love to shop."

It's just all.... One has nothing to do with the other. I'm ... okay, I'm not straight, so I can't use the slash argument. I'm a girl and I don't like to shop for anything but books. Or geek stuff. A /= B. In any of those. Maybe it's just they don't feel like they're not allowed to dislike something without justification? I mean, what's wrong with saying, "Watching or reading about men having sex doesn't turn me on, so I don't like slash." That's an argument that makes sense. I wish people would just... I guess feel stronger in their likes/dislikes and not have to qualify it.

Also: does anyone know where that study is (or if there was a study) where it they showed men a bunch of different types of porn, and most were more aroused watching gay porn. Or something like that? Or did I make that up?
