From the opening:

The Umbrella Corporation thought they'd contained the infection. Well, they were wrong. Raccoon City was just the beginning. Within weeks, the T-virus had consumed the United States. Within months, the world. The virus didn't just wipe out human life. Lakes and rivers dried up, forests became deserts and whole continents were reduced to nothing more than barren wastelands. Slowly but surely, the Earth began to wither and die.

Translation: Due to budget issues, we can only film in the desert.

I have now seen two Resident Evil movies, neither one being the first. But here's my thinking about them: RE has James Purefoy; RE:Apocalypse has Oded Fair; I have no idea about Exinction*; RE: Afterlife has Wentworth Miller. So, thus far, they're all a win.

Although, I'm not sure how I feel about the fact the actual apocalypse happened off screen. On the one hand, what a cheat, because that's the best part about zombie/plague stories. On the other hand, I guess that's what "Shawn" and "Dawn" of the Dead are for, and this was about Milla Jovovich and Sienna Guillory kicking ass.

It was fun.

Now I'm in the mood for zombies.

*No, Oded Fair does not count twice. Gorgeous and Jewish though he is.

the answer to my previous questions is, "Eh. Not really."

Also, no store or On!Demand actually has Resident Evil in stock right now. So I hafta wait until Netflix can get it to me.

Also, Wentworth Miller's, "I'ma shootin' zombies" face is a lot like his, "Lincoln, why you gotta be so mean?" face.

He's so beautiful. Really, the movie was just full of beautiful.
