I think I'd like Ward if he was played by another actor. I like characters who are all about the job, through and through and whatever. But what's his name is flat.

Also, I'm sad because Simmons seems to have a crush on Skye, but they'll never be a couple because lesbians are side characters, not one of the mains.

I'm still underwhelmed (so far)

ETA: I want Ward to mentor the shit out of Skye. Help her tap into her inner rage and then subdue it through learning to dedicate herself to a bigger cause and be all badass and...

I'm kind of wanting her to be my SeaQuest marysue.

Ward is only interesting if he remains asexual. In that... he doesn't appear to really be attracted to anyone, not that his character identifies as asexual. Although, that would be interesting, too.

Also, the Ender's Game trailer and commercial seem to be operating under the assumption that if you've read the book, you know the ending and won't care about seeing it and if you haven't, you won't know the ending and thus, won't know you're seeing it.

(Well, not the ending. The climax)

I know it's Joss Whedon and he's not really that much into the cliche but on the Ward & Sky part I'm really getting the impression that it's going to be the big predictable hook up with them. Ward totally finds her attractive which is why he isn't as much rude & condecending to her & agreed so quickly to be her supervisor. So i'm thinking its gonna be the predictable mutual attraction builds between them with the cliche sexual tension & eventual hook up. And i don't think Coulson really has a crush on her i think its more like he sees her as a daughter. I actually wouldn't be surprised if there's a big 'surprise" reveal at some point that she actually is his daughter and that's why he's bringing her onto the team even though he knows she's a risky.

I'm a bit underwelmed too but not sure if its the show itself or if my hopes were just so high that it couldnt live up. We'l see (:
