I know love-ins aren't as much fun as hatefests, but i thought we'd give it a try this week, okay? immediately contrary to last week's top five of hate and rage, this week's is top five fictional characters you love without bounds. not, of course, necessarily romantic-type love; just the fictional characters, movies or tv or books or whatever, who're your favorites. the ones you'll jump to protect or defend if somebody slags them off. you know.
1. Talon Karrde (Heir to the Empire): I love all of Timothy Zahn's characters because they are so incredibly smart and smooth and just perfect. I'm choosing Karrde over Thrawn today because I don't think I enthuse enough over this character. He's not evil, not totally amoral, just driven (kind of like Mal). And he's hot (at least, he is in my head. He also looks like Gary Oldman in my head, so yeah).
2. Detective Sawyer: I'm kind of romantically driven this morning. And I'd love to get romantic with her.
3. Dr. House: I love the snark. I love the damage. I love the utter belief in himself and how he's not afraid to assert himself and his beliefs in his diagnosis even when they turn out to be wrong. He's Sherlock Holmes, whom I've always loved, only scruffy and not English. Which is funny, 'cause, you know, the actor is English. Anyway, House is one of those character I've loved since i was a kiddlet.
4. Bean: Like House, he's cool. Only, you know, before he caught baby feaver from Petra and went weird. I like intelligence, you know?
5. Jack (Pitch Black): Any girl who passes herself off as a boy, and has *those* eyes, and is kick ass, and so obviously belongs with Riddick (killer though he is) automatically gets my undying love and devotion. Plus, she's a hottie, especially when she's bald. I love writing her and I will start writing her very soon again. I hope.
I love character-love memes. Not so much on character-hate memes, but I'm not much on hate. It makes it hard to breath.
