I'll buy that Lex was able to tap into Cassandra's vision after the fact because I want to believe that he's somehow connected to the whole otherworld through his experience with the meteors. He's not connected in the same way as Cassandra, but with the serum, he got in.

So it wasn't that he was living his own worst nightmare. He was living the world's nightmare. Or destiny's nightmare?

I don't know.

I'm ambivilent on the episode. In the beginning, all the actors seemed to be phoning their performances in, except for MR, who was tryign to act for all of them. By the time Chloe had her nightmare, though, it leveled out, though.

Oh, and I'm going to be driven batshit by who was in the limo. I so badly want it to be Morgan (oh, god, so badly), but I know it's more logical for it to be Swann's assistant.

It should be Morgan and played by Hauer. *sniff*

This is the body of the email I wrote to my LJ wifey, [livejournal.com profile] yavannauk in the UK as she doesn't mind being pre-spoiled, which is a *very* healthy attitude to have out of the US. Hence she squees in almost real-time with us.

Both she and [livejournal.com profile] suzvoy will probably have their squees up on their LJs in about a day therefore. Though, I do always give kudos to Suz for trying very hard to stay unspoiled until her download finishes. *g*

So minus the personal stuff, this is what I told her about "Scare":

The heart attack everyone had in advance over 'Scare'? was NOT worth it!

It had flaws - but it was EXCELLENT with NO Lexana at all. Either the WB had a BIG backlash of email over the proposed Lex dream or it was a phony plant to see reaction to the proposed Lexana and they saw the hate!

Lex's dream was of being the POTUS (President of the U.S.), except first hand, not a vision from Cassandra, and it was so PERFECTLY used even as we were being anviled over the head with Comic book!Lex.

The Clex? was palpable!

The Chlex? WOW!

They're obviously setting up 3 things:

1 - Chlex romance - the REAL thing this time!

2 - Clark tells Chloe the secret

3 - Chloe dies - yes, I'm serious!

I'm convinced after tonight 2,000%!!!!!!

And Jason broke up with Lana HAHAHHAHAHAHA! (sorry - not!)

Bitch Lana in Jason's dream? I loved!

Lana's nightmare? Also beautifully done!

As was Clark's!

Overall tonight? I give KK a 90% spot on for acting - she was freaking GREAT! *SHOCK*

I do still hate smiling and crying unless one is happy - but that's a minor quibble.

Allie Mack STOLE EVERY scene she was in! I adore her. ;)

Chloe's nightmare was the best!!!!

And we really did find Chloe's mom!!!!!! Nope, ain't telling you - you need at least one surprise!

And Lionel is free! Big surprise, not!

It's either of Chris Reeve's (*sniff*) ladies (*not* Annette!) It's either Lois/Brigette (MargotKidder) or Somewhere in Time's Jane Seymour/Jason's demon witch mommy behind it!

Lionel got in a limo at end of ep and was not surprised by who it was - who we naturally did NOT see. *eg*

Oh and Lionel was in white linen casual suit and open white collarless shirt upon being freed - GUHHHHHHHH! Couple that with his short hair now at a decent length to be yummy? WOW! His partner, must be jumping JG's bones a lot at home!

BTW? We're being fed Lionel's Christ conversion as real!!! *hackspithack* *repeat*

NO F***KING way! He can lie PROSTRATE on the floor of the Vatican and kiss the Pope's ring and I STILL won't believe it! Kudos to Mr. Glover's acting of course!

And Michael? GUHHHHHHH Acting and looks so DAMN HOT!!!!!!!

And Clark believed his woobie for once - uh, mostly. *g*

Lex, OTOH, clearly did not believe Clark but let it go.

And Clark?

CamethisclosetotellinghissecrettoLex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know how hard it was NOT to hit the space bar just now????

*VBG*

I u/stand BitTorrent is being targeted for illegal d/loads? Are you going back to Tiny Vision?

You need to see this ep AT ONCE!!!!!!!!!

Exclmation points stolen from [livejournal.com profile] nerodi! *VBG*

See?

I agree with you, though. I'd love it to be Morgan and he should be played by Rutger Hauer, but it probably won't be. *Sigh!* Wouldn't that be cool?

I preferred the dream we had for Lex. Otherwise, we would have had the world's worst Lexana scene ever. Lex afraid of the evil his dreams for power and glory might produce?

I felt that was much more effective.

*hugs*

That was spot-on commentary, astrea. You know, Margot Kidder and Jane Seymour never occurred to me. I was thinking, like serafina, that it might be Morgan. My other choices were Sam Lane (because of the military connection) or possibly Dick Cheney (just kidding--but wouldn't that be a hoot?) ;)

Well, actually, I'm assuming it was Margot Kidder. I want it to be Morgan, but I do tend to think that maybe dr. swann has an interest in lionel, so he sent his assistant.

However, we still don't know who orchestrated lionel's being stabbed (i'm assuming it wasn't just a random incident) and in that case, I think morgan.

I hadn't thought of jason's mom, but it does maybe make sense. we did last see her in a limo.

well....to me the only explanation for that lex nightmare is budget.
Not that I min if they got rid of the lexana! I dont think it was supposed to be cassandra's vision.

I have no idea what you mean about the Lexana, nor do I care. It wasn't in the episode. Plus, Lex's dream wasn't Cassandra's vision. It was a lot more detailed and had more in it, so I don't see how it saved them all that much. They had to add in all the visual effects of the bombs, etc.; all they kept was the white house and him in the field of flowers.

I prefer to think of it as some sort of cosmic destiny that Lex tapped into. He wasn't infected with the bacteria (although he was); he injected the antidote, which was probably meteor based. Since he's already a kryptomutant, it makes sense that it stimulated something that allowed him to tap in.

Plus, it's more interested to think of it that way than just budget.

mmm...i like your theory... I think itÄs telling that Lex would sort of have notions of his future.
