Smallville
Nov. 17th, 2004 09:02 pmSo, I really liked this episode. I love Lionel. I don't trust him, but I love him. I hate Jonathan. "A man who doesn't care if he hurts someone," or whatever he said. He doesn't realize he could be talking about himself. *grrr*
What I loved the best in this episode was how I really felt the friendship between Clark and Lex. These are two men who would do anything for each other, even when pissed off. And, boy, Clark was pissed. Like, jealous-boyfriend pissed.
I loved how Chloe just rolled her eyes when Clark took off on her in the Torch. She's used to it now.
So, good episode. Off to watch Lost.

Date: 2004-11-17 10:10 pm (UTC)I didn't like it. But liked some of the clex parts. I don't like Lionel today. When clark saved lex here I was SOOOOOOOOOO pissed off. If I had a raging fire around me and all the sudden it was put out and my tormentor against the wall... if I didn't know the answer to that I'd go a little bit crazy. And then the whole sex thing. 13 people in one year makes someone bad? Please. But I still love the boys. Some parts tonight was just hard to watch.

I don't think that's going to phase Lex at all. He was in Smallville. Things likethat happen all the time, and he's well past the point where he's just going to accept it and move on.
The episode had it's flaws, yes, but I still enjoyed it. Don't think I'm going to be reading other people's comments, though. I really liked the conversation between Clark and Lex in the end. I think the place Clark was coming from was justified. He was concerned and disappointed and wasn't afraid to let Lex know. And Lex needed to hear it. He already knew what he was doing was unhealthy. What he needed was someone to make it "real" for him. And then he let Clark know that he still needed him, and Clark heard that and, in my view, promised to hang on. And, inthat moment, the tragedy of the future rift really cemented itself.

*sniff* yeah.

It appears that this was one of those episodes where people either loved or hated... and I'm a rare one that I am in the middle. =)
