Quick impressions:
Wasn't the house Chloe went to on the street?
Lana and Lex are so cute together right now. I don’t mean that in a romantic way; they just seem like really good and really old friends. I like.
How much did I want Lois/Lana slash after Lana rescued Lois at the cemetery? And how much do I want a Clark/Lana/Lois icon with Lois saying "Really?" That was priceless. *Loved* it.
Michael Ironside is talking weird. He makes me melt whenever he says, "out" or "about" or ... anything with the /ou/ sound in it, but he sounds like he's trying to sound less Canadian, which should be illegal. I love the way he talks. I love him. I love how squishy my tummy gets when I see him.
Do not like the cigar thing. I'm with ... whoever said it last week: whenever I see a big fat cigar, I think "cock". I don't want to see him sucking a cock. He be mine.
I may be wrong, but I think you generally call a five-star general, "General" instead of "Mister." But I could be mistaken.
Lex is so pretty.
Lionel looked like a fish in that shower scene. Was anyone else upset that the hot guy in the towel only stabbed him? He didn't even cop a feel. And how sad is it that Lionel has to hire someone to stab him in the shower while he's acting like an idiot? I would have pretended to be dignified if I had hired someone to stab me. Naked.
Lionel obviously found a new pretty toy in Trent, though. Not as pretty as the toy Lionel made with Lillian, but this one has shiny objects that protrude from him. Not that I want Lex to make any of his objects shiny; they're fine just the way they are.
My sister thinks Trent was very "Comic-booky." I agree. But I don't dislike him.
Dude. Clark just *killed* someone. I wish there'd be some fallout on that, but there won't be. Hopefully I'll still be writing COTW in another six years when I get around to this episode so I can fix that.
Yay! Chloe's not dead. Allison Mack is a lying hor. But I love her.
Okay, that was the fastest jury return in a high profile case *ever*.
Jonathan is an ass. As is Clark. Martha, at least, put some thought into the CoCK. Rational. Maybe it contradicts her stance from seasons prior, but she is supposed to be the more rational of the Kents, and I've always wanted her to be able to see the other side of things, even if she doesn't agree with it. And, for an instant, she did.
Lana is wise in her knowledge of love. At least she can see the Clark/Lois vibe, even if he's still a little kid who can't see past what he knows and is comfortable with.
Um. They are going to get back to Lionel being stabbed, right? Because it seemed really random.
Oh, and, did Lex ask Lana if she wanted to rent the apartment, she said no, and then said she wanted to rent the apartment? Because I couldn't understand what Lex said, but it sounded like 'apartment.’
Overall, I liked it. Yes, the Clex vibe is sinking (at least the friendship seems to be gone on Clark's side), but I found the episode engaging and interesting, I still like Lois and, well, I like all the characters. even Clark, who, yes, sucks. :)

Date: 2004-09-29 10:13 pm (UTC)Huh? Okay, I totally missed that. I wondered at the randomness of the stabbing. Where was that apparent?

So was Lionel there when the jury came back in? Usually the defendant has to be there, unless, you know, he's recovering from a stab wound. So if he was there, there's a nice plot hole for you.
I wonder if Lionel got stabbed to cause further damage to his liver and perhaps get on/moved up on the list for a transplant???
Oh, and I've heard that there's some kind of correlation between fast jury returns and reversible error being found on appeal.
Is Lionel's case a death sentence case?
And do they still have the firing squad in Kansas?

Date: 2004-09-30 05:22 pm (UTC)He seemed to be up an about the next day. He was stabbed before Chloe was found, and then she delivered her testiony (which we didn't see). The next thing we see (pretty much) is the newspaper with the Guilty headline and a picture of lionel.

I thought of that, too. Not sure. I'm being slowly swayed by the Lex did it theories. I'd want it to be Morgan, but only if Hauer came back and played him.
Is Lionel's case a death sentence case?
It didn't seem like it was. I'm not sure.
And do they still have the firing squad in Kansas?
I wish. :P
