Lost and other stuff
Sep. 25th, 2004 04:16 pmFinally watched my tape of Lost. Veronica Mars is next. As for Lost, i enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The parts that had seemed so dreadfully slow and boring (not to mention contrived and sappy) weren't bad at all. I don't know if it was because the acuostics are better in my room and I could understand them, or because I already knew about the whole, "five seconds of fear" thing so I didn't have to groan.
And, strangely? Dominic's character grated on me this time, whereas last he was the one I liked the best.
I thought Ian was adorable in a tragic/shocky way. When he ran off to get the pens and came back with a handful, i just wanted to squeeze him tight and keep him safe. I hope he manages to maintain that air of vulerablity somehow, becuase the more I read of him, sadly, the less I like him. I mean, I'd still like to follow him around for a day and get his movements and diction into my head, but more and more, I'm firmly relegating him to 'the pretty' category and not interested in anything else.
not that I'm very interested in actors to begin with. I'm generally not into people all that much, which is a horrible trait for a writer, but there it is.
I will be watching in the weeks to come. I hope the focus is on more of the characters and their interactions rather than the Spinosauras lurking about in the underbrush.
As for slash, I dont' know how much I'll be interested. A part of me would like to see Ian (what was his character's name)/Jack slash, just becuase i think Jack would be good to help him really gain his footing as a confident adult in this situation (and avoid the creepy Flowers in the Attic thing that could so easily develop between him and his sister). I know before this came out, the hot pairing was Dom and Saide (?), which is fine, except i'm not intersted in Billy (?) all that much right now. But, anyway, it doesn't matter. Like I said, i think this will just be a show I watch without participating in the fandom.
I'm writing the Insurgance fic right now and have been struggling to figure out how to get Martha to Metropolis while mainting the fight between her and Jonathan. Tehre's nothing between her and Lionel, after all, and everythign I was doing felt so artifical. Lucikly, i stumbled onto a solution last night, so all it good.
Don't know when the next part of LLAR2 will come out, though. Sorry.
