Aug. 22nd, 2004 09:18 pmBack when Smallville first started, I remember people discussing what sports Clark could potentially play that wouldn't necessarily reveal his powers. Someone said swimming, although we've since learned that Clark can superspeed under water. Someone else said diving.
You have no idea how much I've wanted to write a fic where Clark joins the diving team. Sometimes, it creeps into my head while I'm writing COTW, especially when faced with Reynolds demands for Clark to not be lazy.
It's especially hard not to do it after watching diving stuff tonight. Even with his fear of heights, I think it'd be a fun story to read/write.
*sigh*

Date: 2004-08-22 11:39 pm (UTC)The Olympics are proving to be quite a Clexy muse.
Just yesterday there was a similar conversation about Olympics-inspired Clex. Hee.
I was thinking of longing looks from across the athlete's village cafeteria, fencing!Lex, and an NBC fluff piece...

Date: 2004-08-23 03:29 pm (UTC)I think it would be wonderful therapy for Clark too. A way he could stop hiding under all the layers in a safe environment.

Re: Ooo
Date: 2004-08-26 05:46 pm (UTC)he'd spend all his time at the pool, watching Clark practice. Then inviting him over for "private lessons." :)
