I love Adam. I love the way he interacts with Lana. He was such a great character until they screwed it up because Ian and Kristen "had no chemistry." Finally, crack I *don't* want to smoke. It distorts reality too much.

You know, I dont' think the computer hacking Adam did was all that impressive, though. I mean, I can't do it, but didn't he just do an ISP trace? Isn't that pretty basic? They seem to all be doing it on the teacher board right now.

Molly is pretty.

DCA is going to have their ABC superstar week. Lost is on the banners. I wonder if Ian will be there.

WTF?

No chemistry?? What - because they had conflict??

They had more chemistry than the Clana...

A few weeks ago, either Gough or Millar said in an interview that they scrapped the Lana/Adam romance because the actors had no chemistry. Now, that is quite obviously bullshit, so what a lot of people have speculated is that they saw that KK and Ian had more sexual chemistry than KK and TW, saw that their OTP would be ultimately threatened, and thus changed Adam's character so it wouldn't be an issue. This is one of the reasons Ian Sommerhalder had such a bad experience working on the show: all the backgroun work and perceptions he had on the cahracter were changed 3 episodes into his stint.

Go ahead and say it: They can't act. :)

Though KK did seem to get better at the end of the season...

Only because she let Chloe do her hair, and raided Chloe's closet. ;)

Have to say I like the rumors I've heard that KK won't wear pink in S4. Give that girl something that isn't pastel! Silly washed out colors... No one can make pastels interesting...

Silly person. Didn't you read the Greg Beeman article? Kristen Kruek looks *fabulous* in pink. She looks bad in *dark* colors, like green and teal. *shakes head*

They didn't have have to fake it. KK actually did a very good job in her scenes with Ian, and I find Ian a very engaging actor to watch, especially with Adam in the early episodes. They had a lot of chemsitry, and it threatened the Clana, so it was cut.

And I even watched them! Both eps.

With the way the story is going all fractured and the tension from toeing the mark with the movie project, I think we're going to look on these past seasons with a lot fonder memories than we currently do. I don't know about no chemistry, but there wasn't much. There wasn't supposed to be much! Their Lana-character had just come off a bad relationship jag. What, she's supposed to silly-putty herself on to the next new guy who addresses her? Seems that the writers are trying to stuff the role back into the pom-pom uniform and amputate what independence they gave her. The way they handled Adam's transition from sweet-if-sadistic motivator to the psychotic wreck, there was no saving that character at all. It could have been a nice recurring role, but instead it became a mini-series version FOTW. Pity.

Yes there was. Ian Sommerhalder was brought on to be Lana's love interest in a six-episode arc. Halfway through, they decided to change the storyline and changed Adam from whatever he was originally to a reanimated zombi. The "offical" story they gave a few weeks ago in some interview was that KK and IS didn't have any chemistry, but that was bullshit. People have said speculatively that either a. the writers saw that the Adam/Lana chemistry was outdoing the Clark/Lana or b. Levin, who was then president of the WB and liked the Clana wanted the Adam/Lana arc out.

Lana actually *said* she was interested in pursuing relationships with other people in "Magnetic." She gave a lovely speech to Clark about how she'd decided it really was time to move on. And, lo and behold, they brought on a guy who only wanted Lana to be herself (hence my confusion at you saying that Lana hd to "silly-putty" heself into the next new guy; she and Adam had a lot to talk about and a lot of fun together in tehf rist few episodes, so I didn't see it as Lana trying to graft on to just any new guy). Bringing on a recurring character, then, made a lot of sense to help Lana transition into her final character arc of the season. Bringing on a character, changing his function, and then having no bridge didn't make sense.

Rewatching last night ("Delete") I loved it when Lana's all (paraphrase): "So, how do you like this apartment?" (like she's doing something so generous and nifty for him) and Adam's response is (paraphrase) "It looks like the sort of place Norman Bates would live in"!

I love *all* of Adam's responses to Lana early on. He was just so matter-of-fact and sarcastic with everything, and Lana *blossomed* under that treatment. He's a more cynically outspoken Lex in some ways, and I think Lana rises to both of them when they challenge her to really look at what she's saying.

Oh, Adam, where are you when we need you?

Adam was a breath of fresh air. :) No sugar-coating, plenty of sarcasm... he didn't treat her like a china-doll. Lana mentioned in a couple of different eps that she was trying to shed her "fairy princess" image, and that she was tired of being treated like she couldn't deal with reality. Adam gave her that - she could either accept what he had to say and deal, or walk away, and she dealt with it because he was the only one who didn't treat her like she'd break if someone frowned in her general direction.

I loved his first conversations with her, while they were in therapy. And his comment on "no one's ever honest with girls like you" was wonderful! :) Especially when Lana admitted later on that he was right and that no one was challenging her to achieve or accomplish anything other than looking pretty.
