Legalish Question

I have a question about somethign that'll be used in the Morgan/Kal fic, but it's about what would happen to Morgan after Lex Luthor, Ace Reporter



Morgan was arrested on multiple counts of murder, embezzlement, fraud, and something else. He was arrested, and my question is would he make bail and living in his apartment before and during the trial, or would he most likely be detained in jail like Lionel?

I would imagine that with his underworld connections he'd be considered a flight risk and therefore not get bail.

He coudln't possibly get a really good lawyer to site, among other things, that their evidence comes from an alien and the man in question is over seventy years of age? Morgan is supposed to be really powerful in this universe. Do you think that, even with that, he'd still be denied? And, if he was, would people (Clark) be able to visit him in prision and talk with him one on one, or would they have to talk via that phone between glass?

Personally I'm surprised Lionel doesn't own enough judges and things to ensure his release on bail.

*nods* I agree. He would have to have some damn high-priced, smooth talking attorneys to get bail on all those counts.

Well, we aer talking about a man who was able to shoot another man in the head in full view of at least a dozen witensses (whether or not they actually *saw* the shooting is questionable, but they saw the initial shoot-out) and not even get arrested. He's had ten years to become more powerful.

Oh yeah, the wheels of justice only grind down the poor. Morgan, if rich and powerful enough, can definitely 'scape justice. After the preliminary hearing (which can occur as soon as the day following arrest), Morg can be walkin' free and easy.

I'd say he has enough power and judges and important people in his back-pocket to walk free. I'm sure he knows a lot of dirty secrets about a lot of very high profile and important people, who would very much want him to be happy so that he doesn't talk. He'll be walking free all right.

And I want to use this opportunity to let you know how much I love your Morgan/Kal fic and also Lex Luthor, Ace Reporter. You are an amasing writer and I am in awe of the speed and great quality in which you write one chapter after another.
