I've decided to grow my hair out a little. Not long. Just enough so I can pull it back in a hair band again or something. I'm not sure. I might change my mind, but the problem with deciding to grow hair rather than cut it is that you can take immediate action when cutting hair, but you have to wait to grow it.

I go the Smallville Yearbook today. I like how KK seems to be unaware of the fact that Lana was 16 in Nicodemus. I want to snark her on not doing the underwear shot, but I know I'd be uncomfortable if it were me. However, I *will* snark the fact that she says it's because she thinks red lace underwear was inapporpriate for a 15-year old girl to be wearing. *snorts* Give me a break; she still wore it. They were actually quite tasteless, and that's not why you didn't want to wear them, honey. *you* were uncomfortable with it. Just call a spade a spade and the fuck over it.

It might just be my prejudice, but whereas I found the interviews with Allison and Annette really deep and thought-provoking where they showed great insight into their characters, I'm finding KK's rather flat. And false, after reading that line. But, again, it might just be my prejudices, especially after watching the commentary for "Red".

I found KK coming across the same way, and hell - as much as I think Lana was superfluous and now is even more so (why the hell can't she stay in Paris from now on?), m dislike of her character made me even more determined to cut the actress a break. I wanted to like KK! Unfortunately, she comes across as just as thoughtless, shallow, unengaged and unengaging, and really, boring, as herself as she does as Lana. I think the character is flat because the woman playing her has no shadow either. And while a pretty face may be enough to make the guys, including her costars, go "Oh she's wonderful!" alas, it is not enough for me.

She really does. It's frustrating to think she's in this really important part and she can't muster up the professionalism and intellect to do her fricking homework and create a life for the character. I understand that it's got to be hard with the writers changing things from week to week, but AT, AM, MR, JG and even JS and TW manage to d it. Why can't she?

Ok, I'm going to play devil's advocate. (Because anyone who can make people fall in love with Lana has got to have some evil powers.) Most kids starting high school are 14, yes? Clark was 15, but usually kids would be 14. Have we ever heard any characters talk about their ages, besides Clark and Lex? (I tend to forget details like that, so it's entirely possible that they have.) But it's entirely possible that Lana *was* 15 in Season 2, as far as I know.

Her sweet sixteenth birthday was "Cravings" which was S1, which was well before Nicodemus. Therefore, not only was Lana sixteen, but an entire episode was devoted to letting us know that she was turning 16.

Oh. Well, KK's just dumb, then. You'd think, after playing the same character for 3 years, you'd know how old they were.
