Just a quick note since I'm tired.

I really enjoyed the movie. Gary Oldman blew me away as Sirius. As much as I love and worship him, I wasn't really sold on him as Sirius when he was cast. I was thrilled that he was, since I love him so much, but he didn't *feel* like Sirius to me. But, after seeing the movie, I repent and realize that he was the best possible person. He was fantastic. *loves*

Still think Jeremy Irons woulda been cool as Lupin, but Thewlis did fine.

I really enjoyed the movie, but I felt that they relied too much on people knowing what was going on through the books or not caring. The Mauraders weren't explained, the potion was never shown, and, again, Snape's hatred never amounts to more than a general frustration (except in the Shrieking Shake, and then, only towards Sirius. And even then, not so much). As I said after the movie, for some reason, Rickman just can't get it up in this part. He never seems angry or spiteful or *anything*. even the scene in the hall with Harry, well. He was fairly justified in his tongue lashing. No, he shouldn't have brought up James, but .... Whatever.

I really wish they would have explained who made the map, why Sirius, et. al, became Animagi, and done a little more with Lupin. And Sirius.

On the other hand, now that the first viewing is out of the way, I can now throughly enjoy it the second time.

SV Recc: Ad Astra Per Aspera by Kat Reitz and tzigane. Summary: Lionel gathers up all the mutants from Smallville and locks them in Belle Reve to experiment on. Very sad and harrowing, but a lovely, well written story. I coudln't stop reading except for when I had to or I'd start crying. It was wonderful, and I enjoyed it very much.
