*sigh* It was competely different from the book (only the names and the concept of the curse remained the same) but it was a lot of fun.

First,

Ella

Anne

There's really not much to say. It wasn't anything like the book, but, in the end, I didn't mind. Ella was still incredibly strong and self-aware. She does save the prince, she fights for the rights of all the creatures of the relm, and she kicks butt. There was no pumpkin, slippers, or search for her, which was nice. Anne sings, and has a lovely voice. All in all, it was fun for the whole family.

The only strange thing was Cary Elwes snake friend. Named Heston, he was a lot like Sir Hiss from Disney's Robin Hood, only scarier. I'm pretty sure he and Car Elwes' characters were gay and married. When Char introduced Sir Edgar and Hes to Ella, he got this strange look on his face and all I could say was, 'Ella, this is my uncle, Sir Edward. And, ah, this is Hes. My ... other ... uncle."

Anyway, four stars up on this one. A definiet must see again. Right after I reread the book.

But it stayed true to the character? I guess she didn't suck or you wouldn't have liked it.

It did stay true to the character, which I was glad of. That was the thing that had me most afraid as i watched the previews, but they did fine.
