A little bored
Apr. 9th, 2004 05:59 pmI'm all ... wheezey or something today. I can breathe, but my chest feels funny. I hope I'm not sick during spring break. That would suck, having no where to work, and not being able to enjoy not having to go anywhere.
I'm posting images of who I see as characters in COTW. They're not exact representations (I don't actually picture any of these actors), but they're close enough, and I always like putting faces to names if I can. I don't know where I got the images, but they aren't mine and if you captured any of them (which none of you probably did), tell me, and I'll credit you.
He's almost a perfect match. He has the forehead, which was important to me. Although, he's not quite so sexy in the movies I"ve seen him in as he is in this picture (He was in Knight's Tale and Mansfield Park"

Yes, I know she's a little old for Sydney, but she's who I pictured from the first moment I thought of the character. I named her after Chase Meridian (?) the character she played in "Batman Forever" because she's just *so* beautiful.
That movie is all kinds of pretty.

Have I given Chad a last name?

Again, he's not an exact match; I actually picture Chad being a lot thinner and shorter. But Hayden is just so pretty in make-up, and Chad is very pretty.
Yes, he does have a last name, but I just gave it to him. And, very technically, I could use this picture for Danny, one of the guys Clark picked up in the club while he was high on RedK. But he's just such a better Aaron, and he's in the next couple fics, and i love him so much. This is my future husband, you know. Unless Ian ... Naw. It's AASG (all about seth green)

I have yet to find a good Mabel or Dr. Sutton. I sort of want Maggie Smith for Dr. Sutton, but I want her to have white hair, and I haven't found that yet. And I have no idea for Mabel. Maybe Sukie from Gilmore Girls, but less ... silly. I don't know.

Date: 2004-04-09 07:08 pm (UTC)Mark was on Angel as the vampire Angel turned on the submarine. During the "Nazi-Spike" episode. I first saw him on "Everwood" and thought he was close, but when I saw him on Angel, I relized he was pretty much exactly what I'd been picturing.
Sydney is actually supposed to be very glamorous, which is why Nicole Kidman fits so well. Plus, you know, the fact that she was based, looks-wise, off her. ;)
And, except for one character in the next fic, pretty much any guy Clark crushes on that isn't Lex looks like Seth Green in some way. :) Someone once made me a wallpaper with Seth on it with some quote from COTW about Clark having a crush on SG, but I wasn't able to copy it. and their e-mail didn't let me mail them back. It was sad. :(

I agree. I love seeing how people view characters. :)

Date: 2004-04-09 07:46 pm (UTC)White-haired Maggie Smith. Or, at the very least, frosted Maggie Smith. I know just enough Photoshop to be dangerous. :)

Date: 2004-04-09 08:16 pm (UTC)I love those pictures. And I think you did a great job picking actors for the characters, even if they're not perfect. Or we disagree on looks. :-D

Date: 2004-04-10 12:25 am (UTC)I can totally see a Sukie-like figure as Mabel, without the silliness and maybe a bit older, like mid-late 30s(?). Mabel's spunky & opinionated, but she's also got this vast inner calm about her that I really love. She has to, to inflict healthy five-star gourmet food on Lex. :D Ooh, actually, if casting across race isn't an issue, Queen Latifah would be perfect.
And 16 yr old Nic as Sydney? I can so see it. *g*

Date: 2004-04-10 06:10 pm (UTC)Which is really, really funny because, even though I know Seth has a thinner face, whenever I see him in my mind, I see him as more round-cheeked and cherubic. It's one of the reasons my Oz characterization sucks so much; the image in my mind gets younger and softer, so so does the characterization.
For Sydney, I was actually picturing Katherine Heigl from Roswell.
I'm actually not sure what she looks like.
Damien I'm just not sure about.
Yeah, same here. This guy almost works, but not quite. I sort of picture Damien with a thinner face, darker skin, and darker hair. But this guy has the right forehead, which sounds weird, but that's the way it is.

Date: 2004-04-13 08:51 pm (UTC)I'm probably completely off base on this one, but for some reason I think of Mabel as looking like Aunt Bea from the Andy Griffith show.
Or maybe like the woman who plays the housekeeper on the Bonnie Hunt show. But I don't think Mabel is as old as either of them. Hell, she's probably my age. Maybe she looks like me. *g* Is she a chubby, middle-aged redhead?
