I read her book, thought it was cute, so I checked out her blog. I read that for about three weeks before she started getting on my nerves. So I stopped. Started to read a recap by her today, then decided that not only was she not funny during it, but she should probably get a new job since all the joy of TV has been sucked out of her and if she can't appreciate the funniness of such a wonderful show, she shouldn't be writing it.
Then, on a whim, check out her blog today. And was offended by her snobbery. So fuck you, lady. Fuck you. I hope your movies never get made.

Date: 2004-03-22 07:29 am (UTC)I'm specifically talking about the "Dear Ladies who sat in front of me during 'Win a Date with Tad Hamilton,'" in which she insults and berates not only the women who sat in front of her but, by extension, anyone who uses films as escapist entertainment and generalizes that, because they were swept up in the film, they must never want to see a movie that is anything other than romantic and, therefore, are not worthy of movies, her own dubious talent as a screenwriter and, at least in my impression, life.
Now, I haven't seen said movie, but I do know that I do use movies as escapist fantisies because, well, sometimes I just want to escape from life. Plus, no matter how bad a movie i think something is, I would never, *ever*, think badly of a person for liking a movie. Or a book, since I am a "novelist", or at least an aspiring one.
Sorry. I'm still angry. :)

Date: 2004-03-25 06:28 pm (UTC)Her book was cute and okay. I stopped reading her journal because, yeah, she was a little pretensious and snobby. That, though, was the worst. It just *really* made me angry.
