powerful and proud
I'm here
multi-colored
multi-cultured
multi-gendered
I love without fear
I play and dream
I'm here
and yet, I am absent
invisible
I do not see myself reflected
on television, in moives, on screen
I am lost in a sea of
whitness.
of straightess
of weakness
of helpelessness
in an experience that does not resemble
anyone I know
I am lost in a sea
of beauty that is fed to me
of love that doesn't represent me
of an image that is forced on me
But I am loud
and I am strong
and I will fight
I will write of
My experience and I will not
be silenced until I am
Reflected on the Screen.
