Um, I wanna play that game where people ask you about your fic and you answer it. I like talking about my fic. So, if anyone wants to ask, I want to answer. And I'll try to come up with questions for other people too.

The Drag Queen series. Where did the idea of Lindsey in drag come from? I'm really curious. *giggle*

The Drag Queen series came about by accident. I was on some mailing list during second season, and a member sent an e-mail promoting her Lilah fic list. I skimmed it, because I wasn't really interested in joining the list, but at the end, a line caught my eye. What it said was, "So grab your stiletto heels and run to a list devoted to our favorite tough, agressive, bitchy, laywer--and I ain't talking about Lindsey." What I read was, "So grab your stilletto heels and run to a list devoted to our favorite agressive, bitchy, stilletto heel wearing lawyer--and I ain't talkign about Linsdey."

And my thought was, "When did Lindsey where stilleto heels?" At which point, even after I read what it had said, I couldn't get the idea out of my mind. And, since I actually own the red satin shoes (or I did; I may have gotten rid of them), I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. And the series was born. :)

When did you decide CotW would be a series? What was your original plan with the first story (Pain)? What prompted the plotbunny for Pain? For the series?

And Sick is still my favorite of the favorites.

I think I decided it was going to be a series around part 13. And I am serious. ;) I never really consiously made that decision. When I started, it was supposed to be about 5 or 6 parts, and by the fifth, Clark and Lex were going to have sex in the treehouse. I had it all planned out on how I wanted it to be in the future, too. Lex was never supposed to find out Clark was an alien and Clark was going to leave Smallville the first time he flies, abandoning everyone without notice. I'd planned to get them into bed, do a first person from Clark's POV on why he couldn't stay, maybe one from Lex's about how he felt, and then maybe pick it up as a future fic where Clark came back and he and Lex had to figure out where they stood, with the complication of Lois involved. (It probalby would have been a threesome fic).

But I kept getting inspired from the show and obsessively had to "fix" things to make it gel with COTW. So, I kept writing.

As for Pain .... I knew I wanted to write a fic, and i kept seeing Clark on the bridge in my head and Lex just watching him. So, I decide to capture it.

And Sick is still my favorite of the favorites.

I actually think it's one of the biggest reasons COTW became a series. Suddenly, I wasn't as confined by the show's dictates. My Lex got sick. It was an AU, and I could have them together and rewrite the show. It was a lot more fun. So, Sick is near and dear to my heart as well. :)

I want to ask one question about Cowt. Why do you create Damien? Where did this character come from?
I love Lex very much, but my favorite is Damien :) I adore him. I read damien’s parts of cotw several times :)

Hmmm .... Well, I party created Damien because in the episode "Cool", there was a hot guy with brown hair in the mansion, and I decided he was Lex's assistant. Mostly, it was a way to have a cute guy hanging around Lex for Clark to get jealous about. But then, he morphed into more. I love the idea of personal assistants who are there to organize all the small detaily stuff that's most people miss. The more I wrote,the more emotional my Lex became, and Damien just seemed like a fit for him. And then Damien began to facinate me. Who was he? Why was he so devoted? What made him tick? And, most of all, was he for real, or was he going to screw Lex over?

Finally, I decided that I wanted Damien to be someone who's sole purpose was to make sure Lex succeeded. So I wrote "Greatness Thrust Upon" to sort of explain who he was. He never was supposed to take such a prominent role. The whole thing with Dominic threw me for a loop just because when I started, Damien thought Dominic was stupid. But, somehow that worked too.

So, yeah. Damien came up through an obsession with micromanagment, and grew into one of my favorite OC's ever. :)

I don't have a question but just wanted to comment on that I've been reading your CotW series for a year now and just completely enjoy it. It' wonderfully complex and rich. And my favorite little thing, although you haven't used it lately, is the bit about Scrabble and the big words being a turn on for Clark. I got such a kick out of that.

I look forward to more of this series all the time and I'm always recommending it to others. My favorite chapters that I read over and over are #4- Coming Out and #12- Hero's Welcome.

Heh, that's funny. I've been trying to work that into the next fic. :) Hopefully, I'll get it worked out and it'll be tehre.

My pleasure. :) Good fanfiction should always be supported, it encourages us to keep writing. I know I look forward to feedback myself, but then I'm a shameless feedback whore to begin with. LOL
