I've posted my contribution to the Historical Fiction Challenge has been posted. I couldn't think of a good title.

Pirate

Where am I supposed to send it to get it posted on the actual site?

I think you are supposed to send it to [livejournal.com profile] jacynrebekah. I think her email is in her user info on her LJ.

Looking forward to reading it! I'm not reading any of the Historical Entries until I finish my own, so I'm missing out on a lot of good ones for now.

At this point it could be next year...*sigh*

Maybe...I don't know. They are so flighty, those muses.

I Love This Fic!

Wow! I just read 'Pirate' on SV Slash Archive and I found it to be absolutely wonderful!

So I had to rush over here and tell you this!

I loved your Lex (Captain Alexandar hee!) and that your Clark prays and even mean ole' Lucas! (whose characterisation is so good that I could really learn to hate him.)

Especially loved Chloe and how she wanted to stay on the ship (I know, even though this story is really about the Clex) and that Whitney finally ends up... well being alive and with someone! The plot and pacing just fit in beautifully.

Love your story. This was really really well done! (I apologise I can't offer more 'substantive' feedback on your story, I'm still riding on the 'high' I got from reading it. My mind's just a happy blur at the moment. But your story is great and I have to tell you this straight away!) :D

Thank you so much! I love Whitney, and I never want to see him dead. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with him in this fic; at first, I coudln't see him agreeing to be a pirate, but then I realized Love Conqured All. And he and Chloe would be very cute together. ;)

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.

Saw your story at the Historical Fic site (and recced in quite a few LJs) - loved loved it. I've been fiending for some good pirate slash. This had it all - swashbuckling, epic romance, juicy intrigue, and some great characterization (an alive Whitney!, a kickass Chloe, a non-assy Clark, and Captain Lex). Thanks for such an enjoyable fic.

Been meaning to read Corner of the World for the longest time, but scared off because WiP! And not just any WiP but WiP currently at Chapter 39?! Still, if Pirate is an indication, I foresee a nice long weekend of COTW in my future. *g*

Oh, and have you seen this? *dies of laughter*

Thanks so much! I'm really happy my fic had all the elements you were looking for. ;) I had such a great time writing it.

Well, it's a WIP, but it's a series, not a novel. Each part is a complete fic on it's own. Even the two fics with cliff hangers have the main plot resolved before I stopped, and both the second parts have been posted (Trust 1 and 2 and then the Season 1 fanalie fics; I can't remember their titles off hand). So while each fic hopefully leaves you wanting more, there isn't an overarching plot that needs to be resolved like in a WIP novel. I hope you stil read it and enjoy it.

thanks for the feedback!

I loved it. The whole piece was so romance and fun and adventurous.

I am constantly amazed at how you can write such long plot-filled Smallville stories.

Really liked Pirate. The SV metaphor totally works. Lionel as a pirate is kind of a fun image.
I also liked your Lex angst. :-)
I hear you're feeling a little under the weather, I send warm thoughts and virtual hot cocoa! (or cold chocolate milk, in this weather)
