I may have found an apartment. Someone in the complex a friend of mine lives at is moving out. The price is apparently reasonable; it's a two bedroom, nice size, good area. It's closer to home than I thought I'd be, but still close to school. The best part is that I might not need a roommate if I move there. The main problem is being lonely, right? But if a good friend lives right upstairs, that means I can see her occasionally, just to say hi and to hang out. And I'm hooking her on SV, so we can hang out together on SV nights to do fannish squeeing. Plus, I'm close to home and can run there if I need.
She says she's goign to talk to the landlord and put in a word for me. Even though I haven't been working this summer as much as I want to, I still have a savings account with what should amount to first and last months rent, plus my regular savings to cover any cleaning deposit. The apartment is going to be free in the middle of August, so I'll be able to move in soon.
And, I can have a cat and a dog!! I won't get a cat until around Christmas, I think, and the dog next summer, but any pets are fine.
I'm so excited!!! Cross your fingers for me.
