I should be ....
Jun. 2nd, 2003 01:34 pmI should be working and writing fic. I can do both at once, if I just stop playing online. But I can't. Becaue online needs so much less attention from me than fic does. Work ... requires some, because I have to start remembering when to stop hitting Tab and when to use the space bar. I hope the stupid kid gets his books in soon so I have *real* work to do, because this number shit is killing me.
I have an idea of the Historical Fiction Challenge. I mean, I don't know many historical periods, but I was really into pirates for awhile. I even wrote a pirate novel (which one day, I will rewrite and try to publish simply because it's a reverse gender thing that I think some people might enjoy. I enjoyed writing it). So, the idea is that Lionel is a privateer with Lex and Lucas on the crew, except he, once again, has decided to fuck it all and just go pirate. Lex finds this out when Lucas, whose "turn" it was to lead a raid, attacks an English merchant ship, which Clark and Whitney, who were pressed, are aboard. Lex is charged to take the ship to probably Jamacia (which I will learn to sell) and he meets Clark, who comes to him because Whitney has been hurt. Clark, of course, feels a great deal of responsibilty towards Whitney because Whitney is actually a son of a nobleman (who may or may not actually have been pressed; I haven't decided), but all the officers got killed by the Luthors, so they decided to lie. Also, CLark's in love with Whitney's betrothed, Lana Lang, so he feels doubly responsible for him.
Anyway, in return for the doctor, Pirate!Lex requests certain ... services, etc. destinty, love, get their own ship, happily ever after. Or something like that.
The problem is ... I have a big test I'm not studying for on the 14th. And I still have COTW nibbling at my brain. And, you know, I don't have an ENDING or, really, any idea what to do. So ... I hope I get inspire.
But I need a name for the Luthors ship. The good ship LuthorCorp probably won't cut it.

Date: 2003-06-02 03:26 pm (UTC)How about the Lillian don't they use girlie names a lot? although for a pirate ship that might not be the best name.
btw I will definitely read this one.

I will definitely read this one.
And I will definitely try to write it. So far, not going so great.
