serafina20The thing I hate most about writing is waiting for the beta to come back. The longer it takes, the more I decide that the fic sucks and the beta reader is trying to find a real tactful way to tell me. Because if you've written things that don't suck in the past, and suddenly you write something so truly horrible that it looks like a 13-year old's 452 page Mary Sue fic in which she spells it 'Hari Pottur' half the time, and has dialogue like 'O, my God! He is 2 cute!" exclaimeded Amehtyst Crystal Ocean River Malfoy as she tossed back her ravin tresses, flipped her auburn hair, and blinkd her vilet eyes," seem tolerable, you just don't want to blurt out how much is sucks. You want to find an encouraging way to make it work. At least, I would hope so. Right?
*breathes deeply*
I know it's a good fic. I've gotten three good beta reads back, plus one sneak peek who gushed. But that third is holding out, and I'm getting nervous. Typing numbers all day isn't helping.
Okay, so this weekend, I'm either going to see the Matrix or Down with Love. Or Holes. I'll try to avoide seeing X2 again, just because 4 times in three weeks is cause for serious mental help. Right?
