Titles Meme
Apr. 29th, 2003 03:31 pmI want to do the titles meme. Of course, my titles are a) very numerous and b) not that good. Therefore only touch on COTW titles I actually thought about (rather than threw words on the page) and Angel titles I can remember.
Angel
Meditation on Desire (Desire Cycle)
Basically, Wesley meditated on his desire for Angel. Plus, the title sounded cool. It was my second fan fic
Lifting the Veil
I thought it represented what was going on in the fic pretty well. There was a veil between Xander and Angel that was lifted as the story unfolded, both in Xander's idneity (he was an author writing under the name A. Lavell and Angel stumbed across his work), their feelings for each other, and a larger problem in the world. It spawned "Slaying the Giant" (the downfall of Wolfram and Hart), "Angels' War" (Angels Inc. vs. a fallen angel) and Grail Quest (search for the Holy Grail)
Talk to Me
It basically described what was going on in the story: a series of phone conversations between Wesley and Lindsey. It's one of my favorite fics and title.
Smallville
Corner of the World
I honestly can't remember how I came up with the title. I knew I wanted to play off the theme of the boys having a place in Smallville that was 'there's.' I have a feeling I was partially inspired by a song from a Broadway play, but I don't remember the play or the song; I think it had some line in it about a corner of the sky or something, and it stuck in my mind.
The Last Layer
Probably my fav title in this series that I came up with myself. My beta's often help me out, because my titles tend to be mundane and ordinary. This one came from the onion metaphore Clark thinks of in part 6. It fit perfectly for the action.
Runaway
I just really like this title because my mind flashes to woobie!Clark. So lost and confused and scared, hiding in his cave in Arizona. Poor Clark.
And that's all the titles I can think of that were a) specialish b) not thought up by other people and c) not dumb. Thank you. *bows*
