Oscars and Stuff
Mar. 23rd, 2003 10:38 pmI actually watched the Oscars this year, which I dont' think I've done since I was in junior high. I remember for awhile, I thought that all award shows were stupid and recently, all award shows are boring because they take me away from writing. Today, though, I needed a break and to just lay around staring mindlessly at the TV for a few hours. And, you know, mock all the stars I don't like. The standard line was anytime they showed Callista Flockhart or Jennifer Lopez after someone told a joke, to say in a high clueless voice, "I don't get." It usually fit with the look on their face.
Anyway, my movie one best picture, so I'm happy. I haven't seen any of the other movies, but Chicago made me happy and gave me a nice soundtrack to sing to. I'm easy, what can I say?
I thought the guy who won best actor was sweet. I thought the Mickey Mouse bit was stupid and felt sorry for Jennifer Garner. Susan Sarandon was beautiful, goregous, and hot and if Rita Wilson never leaves Tom Hanks for me, I'll take Susan. Or Queen Latifah (?) because she was beautiful too. Is there Velma/Mamma Morton slash out there? I've only seen Velma/Roxy. I was glad Nicole Kidman won. And I've decided that Brenden Fraser and Michael Cain are having an affair. They just gave me a vibe. Don't ask.
I think I know why COTW 36 is giving me problems. I'm setting "Duplicity" at the end of September, which is about three to four weeks after "Heat," but there are things I have to deal with before getting to the actual episode, and I'm getting thrown off. I've almost got my footing back.
I feel a little better than I did earlier. My throat still hurts, but not like it did.
