It's a legit fear

My biggest fear about people discovering Hannibal on Netflix right now is that they won't do it right. If you're not wearing a flower crown and shouting, "Swiggity swag, the nightmare stag!" at the screen, you're just not getting the full experience.

This... I've never watched Hannibal (not my thing) but from what I've heard about it so far, the line "Swiggity swag, the nightmare stag!" seems... surprising. :)

Basically, a huge chunk of fandom decided to react to the grimdarkness of the show by being as silly as we possibly could. There are tons of crack vids on YouTube, silly memes on Tumblr, and hilarious wrap-ups by cleolinda, who I think came up with the nightmare stag, but I could be wrong. I'm not sure where the flower crown thing came from, but Bryan Fuller got really into it and they all wore crowns to at the Comic Con panel. Fun times.
