It's Friday!!

Today I introduced Class Dojo as a new management system. Up until now, I've just been giving out Eagle Dollars, the school incentive system, to encourage good behavior, but I wanted something more specific. I used to use BUGs (Being Unusually Good) as my incentive program. If kids were on task, I gave them a card with a bug on it. If they got five, they could turn it in for a reward. If they weren't being good, they lost their bugs. It was simple. However, last year, I found it really hard to do. The class was good and didn't need as many rewards, so I slacked on giving them out. And then I did it really unevenly, so some kids got a lot and others, not so much. I couldn't keep track of who I'd given them too, either.
So, Class Dojo this year. I can see who has points and how many, it's a tap of a button, and I can give different rewards for different levels. Right now, I have a lot of kids who are determined to get 25 points so they an get Stinky Feet (where they can take their shoes off in class).
Plus, with Class Dojo, parents can track their kids at home. I'm in the process of getting everything printed out and translated to send home next week. I actually had one parent find my account and ask to join weeks ago, when I still wasn't sure if I wanted to use it. I'm glad she planted the seed in my head.
According to Amazon, my laminator is arriving today. So, that means Monday? I don't know any more. I'm excited though because my new teacher bag came today. It's a Zip-Top Organizing utility tote from My Thirty One. I saw it on Pocketful of Primary and I really wanted one. The major selling point (besides the size) was the pockets on the outside. Last year, my computer went dead and I suspect it's because my water bottle leaked on it. This way, the water bottle in on the outside and the computer is inside. I've been using the computer bag the district supplied, and it's just not big enough for everything I need. Now, I have a bag that fits my needs.
I have not been to the gym all week. I should feel guiltier about that, but except for the week I went to visit my family, I've been every week since June. And I love swimming, don't get my wrong, but this week was busy and I just didn't feel like going. I'll be disciplined again next week. Cross my heart.
Ooh, the library is having a book sale next weekend! I can get more books for my library! (Not that I need them, but I could always use more books, right? Never too many?)
I meant to bring home cardstock and the games I printed out last week to laminate, but totally forgot. But it's okay; it's not like, once I get the laminator, it's going to go anywhere, right? I'll have it.
I just found out my dad put in his notice and is retiring!! Finally. He has been working almost nonstop for years. Weekends, holidays... the only time he seemed to get off was when he was in the hospital. Glad he's retiring. I hope he finds something to keep himself entertained.
This means I'm going to be moving to a bigger place next year. Since he's retired, he and my mom can come visit me more often. But I need a bedroom for them. It's good because I can use a bigger place, but I'm nervous because I didn't take as good care of this place as I could have. I had accidents like Command hooks tearing off part of the wall or the time I cooked a plastic container on the stove. I think I'm okay with the carpet because it's been 11 years, but the carpets not so good either. Oh well; it is what it is. I don't want to move because moving is a pain, but a new place might be good.
I'm so glad it's the weekend. Time to relax and kick back. Hope you all have a good weekend!
