That was a sweet episode. The guy playing Vincent was wonderful. I also love that the Doctor called him Rory at one point.

Also,I cannot believe that I've been alive 31 years and have never once heard it pronounced "Van Goth". It's always been Van Go.

ETA

Whenever I see something about depression, or people talk about their experience with depression, I get this line from Lex Luthor, Ace Reporter2 stuck in my head:

Sadly, the belief my world is absolutely ending is completely independent of events that are actually happening.

There's something I want to change about the sentence (even if I can't figure out what it is), but that kind of encapsulates my experience with depression. Where, it doesn't matter how happy I may be at the moment because lurking around the corner and eating at the edges of my reality is the end of the world.

It's a bitter-sweet episode.... It's a tragic tale, yet, yet the Doctor and Amy had given him something that is absolutely priceless and made him happy, at least for a while.
