Saturday Comic Con
Jul. 28th, 2009 07:37 pmSo, Saturday was pretty kick back at Comic Con. Sis and I rushed in to try and get tickets to the Mighty Boosh and Being Human signings, but missed by one person. This was sad. However, we did get advanced reader copies of ArchEnemy (?) the last in the Looking Glass Wars series, so that was awesome. She was really hoping to get them and we finally found the booth Frank Beddor was in. As she was snooping around, a family came rushing up with their books. Sis asked where they came from and we were directed to the Penguine youth booth and instructed to announce, "Long live Queen Alyss." We both got books. I just now need to read them all.
Anyway. I went as Silk Spectre again in hopes of finding more Watchmen to take pictures with. I didn't find many, although one Comedian rushed me (pre-being flung to this death, Comedian, which is awesome). It occurs to me over and over again that the Silk Spectre/Comedian pictures, and the fact I desired one so desperately, is a really, really sick thing. However, the whole relationship between them is fucked up (and awesome in a sick way) so what can you do? At least I didn't go as rape!scene Silk Spectre, as one little girl did. That's just... pushing it.
Anyway, after we got lunch, sis and I separated. I wanted to see Heroes and she wanted to get in line for Doctor Who. Apparently, I got to the line seconds after Zachary Quinto went back inside the hotel. He'd been hanging out and signing autographs, which was brave of him.
"Glee" was airing before Heroes. The line inched up until we got inside, where it still wrapped around a bit. I was cool, because I figured I'd be able to sneak in somehow. Then, the announced they were letting twenty people in. I was really close, but they cut the line off right in front of me. No problem, because this meant I was definitely getting in.
About twenty minutes before the panel, two guys with a camera came over and asked who was first in line. The man who'd inched next to me said I was (which I totally was) and they asked me if I wanted to try and win reserved front row tickets to the panel. They were going to ask me trivia, which I'm good at, but was unsure about since, while I watch Heroes, I don't watch closely. Sadly, because I was alone and because I was unsure, I was very flat and boring. I don't even know if they filmed me.
So, the questions:
Where did Nathan Petrelli go to college? (I still have no idea; was it West Point?)
Who shot Clair Bennette? (I now know it was Elle, but I didn't even remember her getting shot then)
After losing his job, where did Noah Bennett begin working? (Copy King)
What year did Angela Petrelli get off the bus at Coyote Springs (except they didn't say Coyote Springs, just "the camp") 1961
And I am flat out blanking on the last question.
The long and short of it is that I won the tickets. I tried to get my sister to meet me, but she was too far away, so I gave one to a girl in line. I was front row, off to the side, right where they call came out. It was awesome, except my camera battery died and I was sad.
Also, Robert Knepper (T-Bag) is going to be in Heroes next season and it will be awesome.
Since my camera died, I didn't go to the Watchmen screening. This made me sad. However, now I have Watchmen on and am happy.
