Today when I was at Borders, there was this book, Watchmen and Philosophy: A Rorschach Test. I picked it up to see what it had to say about the the whole decision not to expose Veidt as the insane moron with a stupid plan and killing Rorschach who, imo, was right to want to tell everyone.

Basically, the one essay I found on the subject was about how while Dr. Manhattan may have been hasty in flat out killing Rorschach, Rorschach himself should have learned to compromise and not been so Kantian and, oh yeah, he was so totally wrong.

And I just.... I just.... I so don't get it. Because, dude, that peace? IS NOT GOING TO LAST? Even *if* there's a so-called "governing body" or whatever the STUPIDEST man on Earth proposed, because THAT AIN'T HOW THE WORLD WORKS.

Honestly, I wonder if I would have felt differently in a pre-9/11 world, but post? When I fell into this big depression because so many people died, and people were all like, "What, did you know someone?" And the world didn't really change at all around me becuase people are still people and basically self-interested assholes, and I don't think that just becuase it's some fake vagina monster instead of human terrorists, humanity is really going to change that much. (I mean, just look at Contact; I'm pretty sure people acted stupid in that).

So, no, I don't think Rorschach was wrong. I think that humanity should have been told. In some way. And Dr. Manhattan is a dick.

Also, GrimDark Pirate Comic? Is fucking obvious. And the dude should have killed himself at the end instead of joining the pirates because he just gave them what they wanted. He should stood on shore and BURNED HIMSELF with the corpse of his wife (and children? did he kill them too) and LAUGHED instead of rolling over like a pussy.

Dammit.
