Serafina's Corner of the World

Vampires sleep through the first day of the zombie apocalypse and wake to discover all their food is gone. Also, while zombies won't eat them, it's not a hive mind things, so the vampires keep getting attacked. And they can't repair injuries without blood. The leader of the vampires is way old school and won't do anything to help their situation, so eventually one of the members (a woman, natch) kills him and takes over. They take refuge somewhere (a mall maybe? or a hospital, for the blood bank) and ally themselves with humans (they don't need to kill every time to feed, and maybe they can ingest infected blood, as long as the victim is still alive).

Maybe a romance with the lead vampire woman and the leader of the humans (man or woman; I could go either way *snerk*), but she'll probably have to kill him in the end as food. Or something.
