Sometimes, when I try to figure out why Hannibal is doing something (like taunting Jack with his agent in training while Jack is investigating the Chesapeake Ripper), I have to stop and remind myself that Hannibal is legit crazy-cakes. He likes to eat people. And, even though he presents well, he's got an ego the size of Jupiter who wants to be loved, petted and praised.

And then things start making sense again.
