Why do people act like there's no gen in SPN fandom? There's at least as much good gen as there is slash.

Oh, right. People are lazy. Duh.

oh, definitely. but not everyone is lazy becasue i just finished reading this wonderful GEN SPN fic by potthead.

*nods* I've found some. As much as I like the idea of slashing them, I just can't get into it for some reason, for reading or writing. That'll probably change, but in the meantime, I've been happy with what I've been picking up here and there.

The fandom has such a wide variety of well written fic, that you'd think there'd be something for everyone, slash, gen, and het (even if mostly, it's still boy/oc--and, yes, I'm one of *those* writers in fandom; I can't quite think of a plot to slash them yet). Even so, every few weeks,someone starts complaining that eerything is wincst and ther's no slash, even though it ain't true.

Even most of the slash SPN writers come out with a good number of gen stories. I really think there are just people who hate Wincest who have a big, stupid chip on their shoulders about it.

*nods* I agree. I have to wonder if people won't read people's gen stories if the person also writes wincest, which is kind of a shame.

I guess someone who writes both got a wincest fic flamed after her genfic was recced. That's so sad that people aren't alloed to write both.

I've noticed that. And, maybe it's my bias, but I've found that the best gen stories have been written by those who have also written slash.
