Nov. 25th, 2004 08:42 amIt's Thanksgiving again. that means it's time for the yearly (often, more than yearly) trek out to see the Relatives. I really don't like spending the holidays with them, and I really don't want to this year. Earlier this year, my Aunt T. called to talk or something. She asked how school was going, so I told her. Normal stuff. It's good, I love the kids, some coworkers are great, I'm having problems with others. I told her a little about the teaming/switching situation and how hard it was, but I was getting a handle, etc.
You know what she said? Something to the effect of, "It serves me right for asking." Or maybe she said she wouldn't ask again or something. That's when I remembered that this was the woman who only liked to talk on the phone to my father because "my mother talks too much." My dad? Doesn't talk at all.
So, if she asks again, I'll just say fine. On the off chance she presses for more information, I'll either tell ehr I don't want to talk about it or I figure she doesn't really want to hear (or something to that effect).
Ericka invited me to her Thanksgiving this year. I'd go, except my Aunt D. was diagnosed with breast cancer over the summer, and this'll be the first time we see her since it happened. But next year, I'm not going. And I mean it this time.
Things I'm Thankful For:
1. My health
2. My family
3. My friends at school
4. My job
6. Hope
7. You All
Love to Everyone!
