serafina20If Bart had red hair, Clark in COTW would totally be into him. Because, except for the fact that Seth Green is pretty much Aaron, and Bart isn't old enough, *that* is Aaron: short, stocky, shining eyes, cocky. And they were totally flirting the whole time.
But, no, if I get there, I don't think I willdo any Clark/Bart in the fic. I think that, by their fourth year together, Clark would actually be *less* likely to stray than he is now. Not that Clark is a cheater or anything, but, lately, he has a bit of a wandering eye.
So, about the episode, I don't have much to say. I enjoyed it andwas frustrated at the same time. Lana and Jason just bored me. Wasn't feeling it at all. The Martha/Jonathanwas a little too rushed and not well developed. I really wished that Bart could have been on longer, but after four years, I'm used to thingslikethis being rushed.
The thing that got me the most was that Lex had gotten Clark and JOnathan tickets to the football game. I really wish that,when Clark said that Lex can't buy back his friendship, Clark followed through on that and didn't accept Lex's gifts. I honestly wonder if the creators realize what a selfish jerk they've made Clark, or if they really think his behavior with Lex is okay.
That being said, Clark stayed with his boyfriend when he was hurt. I was thinking that this wasthe way that Lex's dialysys was going to be revealed, but apparently, Lex is all better now. Or something.

Oh lord, I wish there was more Lex. I'm glad we saw as much of him as we did, especially seeing him interact with Clark. I know Clark is jerking him around, but I still love seeing them on screen together being friends. It feeds my Clexy little heart.

And yes, I think Bart has Aarons' personality. I thought he was quite cute personality-wise as well as phyisically.
It was funny, because the entire episode I kept thinking he was familiar. And then, suddenly, it hit me who he was: Aaron. I need someone to photoshop red hair onto him and make him into Aaron. Even if he is the wrong age. *sigh* Nothing is perfect, is it?

I just wish they'd pay attention to their own story. It's my same complaint with Lana: yes, you have the write the story that makes you happy, but, if you want it to work, you have to take a critical step back and make sure it's working. And it just ain't. Not the way they're promoting it.

They are also devoted to a one-episode arc, when possible. They really, really dont' want to do what Buffy, Angel, and Xena did and have a viewers undersanding of an episode dependant on having see the rest. On one level, i get it, because you have the potential to get more viewers if you can just sit down and pick it up, but, at the same time, you sacrifice sotry.

Date: 2004-10-21 05:50 am (UTC)I absolutely believe that AlMiles are deliberately showing Clark as acting selfish and stupid toward Lex. I now believe that the endgame they're working toward isn't hero/villain, nor even hero/antihero, but hero/hero. In order to get there Clark can't be the person from comics or movie canon, who's good without thinking about it. They've got a Clark who, when he doesn't think about it, is an asshat, and it's going to have big-time consequences.
Unfortunately, it's getting *really* hard for me to square the Clark I see onscreen with COTW!Clark, who is not nearly so much with the dumb.

I'm really not happy that they've made him so dumb on the show. Selfish, I could almost live with, but this boy has no ability to adapt and change. He should be a much better liar by now, and the only reason I think he isn't is becuase, until he saw the CoCk, he didn't realize how his inability to lie well actually *was* putting him in danger. I think that he just figured he's been getting off easy, and that's just wrong.
But, then, that's one reason I write COTW: so I can "fix" what they do badly.

Well, we're in the middle of year two. We're up to Insurgence/Suspect/Prodigal/and Fever (I can't remember if Prodigal or Fever comes first). But, yeah, I don't know so much as I have it planned as much as I can feel how their relationship and hang-ups are going to change as they grow. But it's fun. :P
