Saw it. I enjoyed it a lot, although I do wish it could have been a miniseries with the same actors rather than a movie. There were so many things that needed to be explored in more detail, but they couldn't because of the time constraints. I walked out feeling as if I'd seen the world's longest preview of what was goign to be a great movie. I bought the book (even though we technically have it; but it's an old copy with crummy pages and small print. I needed something that looked better, and Reese is such a beautiful woman).

I found myself a lot more distracted by James Purefoy than I thought I would be. The character is nothing like Damien, and he's still not quite right (Damien's is a lighter brown, and his skin is supposed to have a more natural tan), but there's just something about him that makes me think of Damien. I just wish he'd stop doing movies where they give him a widow's peak (or whatever it's called) because it looks stupid.

I wants to write me some Damien/Dominic fic now. :P

I've heard people say they were unsure of the movie because the book was so much more brutal. Did you feel that way about it? I've wanted to see it because I think Reese is a good actress and I've not read the book.

I"ve never read the book, so I can't compare. I do know that a lot of the times, I'm unsure of Becky's motivations. I think she's supposed to be a very conniving and manipulative character, and while I see some of that, I didn't think that was her strongest traits. However, her motivations might hve been changed from whatever they were in teh book to the movie.

Like I said, I enjoyed the movie, but I wish they could have delved in deeper in some areas.
