I got the apartment. I talked to the landlord today, and we decided I'd move in on the first. I still want to take a look around, so I"m going to call tomorrow and ask when I can do that (obviously after the other guy moves out). The only problem is going to be money the first month. It's going to be about $3,600 for first and last month +security deposite. I have it, I'm just worried about paying bills (mostly insurance) until my school paychecks come in. Plus, you know, food. I think I might use a credit card check (I have excellent credit) for all that so I don't have to use my liquid funds. Then, I can pay it off really quickly once I start working.

I also met a beautiful woman today. She's probably straight, which is too bad, but that doesn't make her any less goregous.

Oh, yay! I'm so glad. Can't wait to see it. You can probably do a cash advance with a low interest rate. Ask the credit card company to give you a special deal. I called mine once and said, look, I'm a good customer, I want you to lower my rate for a while. And they did! So, call!

With a cash advance, do they send a check or do you use your credit card like an ATM. I'm a little ... unsure of what all the terms mean.

I can't wait for you to see the place, too! I'm really excited when I"m not tied up with anxiety. :)

You have to call the credit card company and usually they transfer it to your bank account. At least that's what they did the one time I got a cash advance. The interest rate is lower on a cash advance, but it's the last thing to get paid off, so you should do it on a card whose balance you normally pay off every month.

Which is none. I had to put all my college expensese, includding tutition, on my credit cards, so all the balances are too big to do that. However, I just transfered off one card so it should have a low balance. They just sent me checks with a 2.99% APR until it's paid off, so I think I'll use these. I'll either make them out ot him, or write it into my savings account and pay from there. The transaction fee sucks, but I think it's my best bet right now.

Yay! I'm glad you got the apartment! It sounded like you really wanted it, and sometimes it's just ... really nice when one gets what one wants. Go, you!
