25 going on 13

I really can't think of a moive that makes me feel like I'm 13 again better than Peter Pan I mean the new one, with Jason Isaccs. They just got everything so *right*, and most of that is because of Rachel Herd-Wood as Wendy. She manages to capture that ... innocent joy of being a kid with a huge crush on someone. And Jeremy Sumpter is good as the recipiant of that crush, although he's less interesting than Wendy is.

But, what I love, love, *love* about the movie is Hook. He is exactly the kind of figure I would have crushed on hard when I was Wendy's age. And it's there in the movie, too. No, Hook isn't Pete, but he's facinating. And Wendy clearly is fancinated by him.

And

Every time I watch the movie, and they get to the part where Hook realizes Peter brought Wendy to Neverland for the "secret" kiss, I *always* think Hook is going to kiss Wendy. And, even though I know it's gross and disgusting and pedophilic (not to mentin incestuous), the 13-year old girl in my is *thrilled* and *wants* that kiss because SQUEE!!!!!

The movie was so good. It really did capture the first blush of love and sexual awareness that hits at that age. I was tres impressed with it, and now must get it for my movie shelf.

Plus, Jason Issacs was hot.
