During the ECT part of Asylum, I did feel a little sick. I'm not a weak stomached person by any means, and while I don't exactly like gore, I"ve never had to walk out of a theater because people were pouring blood in the streets and performing surgery on screaming kids (no, I did not *like* that part in Mary Reilly, but I'm not the reason we had to leave).

But this got to me. I was so traumatized, i couldn't even cry, and I'm probably going to make my little sister watch it by herself. I'm a horrible sister.

I was the same way during that part of Asylum. Like someone had hit me really hard in the face. Poor Lex. God. I can't take much more. I was so traumatized after the show, I called my friend. But she didn't get it. I should have called you instead....

YOu should have called! I was so upset, and my sister wasn't watching because she still hasn't seen Shattered. So every commercial I had to go into her room for hugs, and after the ECT scene, I just crawled onto her lap and shook. I could have used a friendly voice.

It was the mouth guard as well. It was so demeaning and he was fighting so hard to get them to stop. Really powerful.

So there with you.....both that scene and the one where Lex grabs onto the wire-fence twisted my gut up. I even had some trouble with just watching him when he was in that bed-cage contraption thing. I watch some pretty nasty stuff on tv and films, but some parts of this eppy honestly made me a little shaky.

I think part of it is, unlike a movie (and for me, a good majority of tv shows), I'm not all that emotionally attatched to the characters. I liked Buffy, but I was never as involved in the show as I am in SV, and especially not as attatched to a character as I am to Lex. So that, combined with just the way the episode was done, I think made it all that just more power.

I generally watch an episode 2 to 3 times the first week. I dont think I"ll watch this one that much ever.
