Saw Peter Pan. Loved it!!! Jason Isaacs is my favorite Hook of all time, and this Wendy was definitly the best. It wasn't exactly faithful to the book, but the book was weird and this was closer to what girls now days really want (to be a pirate, to have your own sword to fight with, and maybe to get the cute boy).
I highly enjoyed the movie and can't wait to see it again.

Amazing how theres really no such thing as an original idea anymore, huh? :-)

Date: 2003-12-29 09:32 pm (UTC)loved the Freudian overtones in the Wendy/Mr. Darling + Wendy/Captain Hook relationship (how twisted is that love/hate relationship? desiring one whilst running from the other/flip sides of the same coin), the sexual awakening of Wendy/Peter Pan, and just the general subversiveness of Hook period (while I don't want to read it, I won't be surprised when Peter/Hook or Wendy/Hook fic surfaces)
the film really gives you a lot to think about, which you can't say about most movies aimed at kids nowadays.
