Grief is longer than death
Dec. 17th, 2003 10:32 pmCOTW 42 just hit 100 pages, and I didn't notice. I knew the first draft was long. Something like 75 pages or so. Then I had to go back and add a few scenes to flesh out the character stuff. I still have another scene to add (I think) and then a new ending to write.
When did 100 pages become something I didn't notice I was approaching. Normally I can tell if it's going to be a long fic. This one slipped me by. Although, I have noticed a pattern emerging. Any fic where they go to Metropolis (Coming Undone/Runaway, How I Spent My 4th of July, Rules of Attraction) tend to be on the long sign. And now this fic (which actually has a tentative title! Wandering the Valley)
Anyway. Someone needs to write a Morgan/Clark fic because it's going to be awhile until I get there.

Date: 2003-12-18 09:32 am (UTC)This fic is replacing Dichot. I hate that episode so much, and find it so unsalvagable (too many characters acting OCC, bad plot, utter confusion) I'm scrapping the whole thing and writing an instead. Some elements are in it (Helen's introduced and Lana moves in with Chloe), but the villian is gone, Jonathan isn't hurt (becuase his leg healed too quickly in the show, and I dont' want to write him with a broken leg) and all the weirdness between Chloe/Lana/Clark is gone. And, it deals more with the repercussions from Ryan's death, which is what's making it so long, I think.

No really. I tend to not really see what kind of work I do. For me it's 'normal' to write and write and write, even though I've never been this productive. I mostly see what I *don't* do, which is write beautifully poetic, powerful pieces that get a lot of acclaim and thousands of people recc'ing and gushing over it. Which isn't to say I don't love writing COTW or appreciate the feedback/recc's I do get, it's just .... I can't write certain kinds of fic, so, of course, it's the kind of fic I really wish I could. The grass is always greener, you know? ;)

impatiently**pets you* I LOVE long fics. Especially long parts of COTW. They last longer. *doofy grin*
I think I need to make an icon that says 'COTW fan'... or something. I know a couple of my friend would use it too. *ponders*

Do you have a favorite Clex moment in the show? (I'd need the episode title, so I can hunt down caps)
And I'd need to know your favorite color too. Just so I can decide on the color tones for the icon.
Would an animated icon be good?
