I always hate it when I look on rec sights, and the people have recc'ed some truly aweful stories or authors I think really can't write, and my stuff isn't out there. Which actully happens quite a lot. I so rarely get rec'ed anymore, or ever. *sigh*
In other news, a new Horatio Hornblower this week, and I get to go skating with
garryowen today!! *bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, cat, scratch, ouch!, blood, alchohol, fuck!, band-aid, bounce, bounce, bounce*
The project I'm doing with the kids tomorrow is having them sort things that happened long ago, today, and both. So, fetching water would go with long ago, but usign a computer is today, right? All night, I had nightmares that I'd put things like "being gay" or "being gay in the military".
*bangs head on keyboard* I need pyschological help.

Thank you *soooooooooo* much.

Subjective
Date: 2003-11-30 04:50 pm (UTC)One thing you have to always remember is that rec lists are subjective. It depends only on the reccer's tastes, which as we are all individual human beings with brains, are going to be different than Mary Sue's on the other side of the computer.
There are *many* rec lists out there which have dark, deep, depressing stuff by BNFs which I loathe, primarily because I don't understand the story or its just to dang stylistically wordy.
I suggest going with rec lists that detail the type of fic it is (humor, drama, etc) or has a big summary of the story, so you know what you're going to read.
And I recced you, so that's all that's important. *g*
