*Smacks forhead*
Nov. 11th, 2003 03:56 pmI've been working on chapter four of my original novel for about, well, let's say six months or so. And it hasn't been coming. I had it vaguely mapped out in my head what I wanted, but the execution has been ... well, rather like an execution: everything died. Multiple times. Very sad, that, and frustrating.
I've been trying to work on it today with the same results: I know what I want, I sit down to write it, and everyone dies. The action, the flow, the characters, everything comes to a screeching halt complete with ... screaching.
Oh, the agony of it all. It wasn't until I was on my way home from an unsuccessful trip to Micheal's (never go on a holiday, yo) that I realized that if it doesn't work the way I'd planned, I could just CHANGE it.
So, I'm chaning it. Here's to leaping off cliffs.
In hair news:
I dyed it this morning. I was going for one shade darker, just to try to get a more nuanced look, rather than the flat blonde. It's ... like, three shades darker. I'm not sure how I like it yet. I may have to wait a week and then dye it again with the old color.
The Lionel/Edge scene is coming. Interesting man, Edge. Don't know why he's chosen the past he has, but okay. I think it's interesting. And I've wanted to play with that storyline before. (Sorry; if I change it, I'll say what I'm talking about, but for now, it's all hush hush).
I think I will post the prologue and first chapter of Dark Goddess in this journal:
gypsyflower. If you want to read it, friend that journal and I will friend you back, since I'm going to friend's lock the post. I'm just a little paranoid, and there are too many people on this friend's list that I don't know to make me comfortable. I'll go ahead and just friend everyone who answered the poll, though.
