No COTW stuff, just first thoughts
So. I never really thought that Lionel was interested in men. Yes, I've written and believed that he could hold some sexual power over Jonathan, but that's because I believe that Lionel craves power so much, that he will do *anything* to gain it.
But. Dude. Edge and Lionel? So ex-lovers who are still in love. They're Clark and Lex in the future! Except both are bad. I, personally, would *like* to see a Clark and Lex who could still banter and flirt, even after they are enemies.
And Lionel screaming for Morgan as he was being dragged away. Really seemed like, even though he felt betrayed, he still loved him and wanted to see him alive before they left.
Anyway, yeah. Very gay. Very much in love.
Also very happy about the Clark/Lex reunion. Especially the look on Lex's face when they hugged. It was like he was coming home.
I like this Clark. He seems to know who he is and is able to integrate his alien part and human part. It's not the same as his darkside/light side. It's just he's finally come to a good place within himself and can accept that he *is* an alien and that *does* mean he's different and he shouldn't have to try to be human. He can find a happy medium.
I would like to see someone write a fic, a long fic, that spans the three seasons, or at least the first two and up to this episode. First season is about infatuation, and second, although it seemed to be about Clark accepting his alien side, it was more about him contorting himself to fit into what he thought was Lana's perfect man (and no matter what she says, she wasn't accepting who he was, even when he was who he was, but, then again, he wasn't trying to be her perfect man just for her; I'll explain later). Anyway, obviously that was a code for both "human" and "straight." Now that Clark had come to an acceptance within himself, he's free to start and adult relationship with Lex.

Date: 2003-10-09 05:53 pm (UTC)All day, this little voice in my head has been going, "Hey. Lionel's in Metropolis right now (in COTW) right? Well, who is he doing, exactly?" I have a feeling it'll turn into an interlude.
And the yelling for Morgan... Well, I was just panicking about the guns at the time, but on reflection, yes, it was slashy.
It was very slashy, simply because of the look on his face. It didn't look like anger anymore; it looked as if Lionel was terrfied that something happened to Morgan. Like, yes, they were enemies, and yes, he thought Morgan was trying to kill him, but Morgan couldn't *die* because that would ruin the game. :)

Date: 2003-10-09 05:55 pm (UTC)But I can't write this *any* COTW and pretend that I'm going to work on my novel all at the same time. *pouts* It's bad enough that I think I need to write Edge/Morgan slash. How full can my plate get? ;)
