Wonderfalls
Feb. 12th, 2005 08:39 amI *love* Jay's dad on Wonderfalls. (That's her name, right? I feel so stupid). He's jsut... such a dad. Devoted to his family, a good man to the core, not a stupid stereotype of "masculinity", not full of meaningless platitudes, and he's *not* resentful when he has to bend his principals for family. Like he tells her in the 5th episode, "Family is my first principal" (or however he said it).
He's what Jonathan Kent should be. A really good man.
It's funny how protective I get of my characters in COTW. First, I was defensive of Clark when the one feedbacker said he was being unreasonable to Lex in the last fic, and now I'm super-protective of Lana who was just called whiny, perfect, and annoying. *sigh* She's a little whiny, but no moreso than, say, *LEX* and *CLARK* and the last time I checked, she wasn't pefect.
*cuddles Lana protectively*
I need serious help. (Not that I don't feel the person who wrote the feedback isn't entitled to her feelings, etc., but this is *my* baby she's talking about in some ways, and I just get... protective. Do others feel like this? Like, try to "fix" a character naturally in a fic only to have people react to that character as if they're no different from on the show and then get protective of them? Anyone? Buller?)
In other news, my fic got mentioned today over a
ship_manifesto. And that's all I need to have a happy day. :P
