I'm tired of this

I'm really tired of this idea that some fans seem to have that Steve was an asshole to Tony and after the movie he needs to apologize to Tony and beg for forgiveness. Because, you know what? Tony gave as good as it got. And he came in with an attitude (eg rolling his eyes when Steve got the reference to Wizard of Oz and calling him useless). So, if anyone owes anyone an apology, it's both of them, because they were both assholes.

Are there any fics where Tony is the one to apologize first? Because I've seen Steve apologizes, and I've seen a lot of people requesting to see Steve apologize, but I don't know if I've seen Tony making the first move.

I really don't think Tony would apologize. It's not in him. I mean, look at Iron Man 2 where he "apologized" to Pepper. He sorta acknowleged he was wrong in his own way but he never really apologized & that was after he wronged someone he really cared about. Why would he ever apologize to Steve? Someone he has no emotional connection with & who he genuinely feels is inferior?

But yea they both should apologize. And a hug session would be a good way to do it hehehe.

butting into agreeeee. I think Tony is more of the "actions speak louder than words" type. or "in place of words". I can see him making Steve something, or buying Steve something, or doing something for him, and when Steve is like "why? you don't even LIKE me!" Tony just sort of shrugs. because that's how he deals with things.

and now I'm remembering the strawberries incident, and is it weird I want fic where Tony tries to make things up with Steve, and just keeps failing HORRIBLY?

I don't think he would either. I'm just frustrated by the general idea that Steve was the only one being a jerk and Tony is the only one who deserves an apology.
