Sigh of Relief

At least it wasn't Dominic. I read LaT's theory that it would be Dom, and freaked because I was sure she'd be right. Then I was frantically trying to figure out what to do about it if I were to ever get there in COTW (which I won't) and realized I'd have to kill Damien because nothing would make Dominic shoot Lionel unless Lionel did something to Damien. Luckily, it wasn't him.
But Dominic bugs me on the show. I can't figure out what he is. The first time he was one, I decided he was an assistant, then backed away and assumed he was probably an accountant or soemthing. In "Reaper" he was doing accounting stuff, but he's also very obviously in Lionel's pocket to be trusted with it. Fine; he still didn't strike me as being super important. Why? He's never mentioned otherwise. Then we went an entire half season where Lionel needed someone like Dominic to help him run the company and get his own shit together, and Dom isn't ever mentioned! And now suddenly he thought he was being groomed for Lex's place? Huh? Who on the writing crew is reading my series and deciding I'm making him more interesting?
Actually, that's just my way of saying that I want more Dominic. And I want a Dominic who can a) prounounce his own last name and b) a cast that can prounouce his own last name consistently the same way. In "Reaper," it sounded like "Senatori." Last night, it sounded like 'Santori,' among others things.
As for Clark: ya know, the show is supposed to be about him becoming a hero. That means he's not one now. He's going to fuck up and say things he shouldn't. Not only is he going through all this not sure who he can trust, without dealing with his alienness, and getting mixes signals from his parents all the time, he's also dealing with super-hormones and school issues. He was an ass to Lex. It happens. I don't think it makes him a bad person. I just wish the show could give us a more balanced version sometimes, where they show him not being being upset and accusing. It would be easier to take when Clark did fly off the handle. But that's not the nature of the show; there's no time for downtime, apparently. We get to see Lana and Clark hanging out, but not Lex and Clark. *sigh* I can't read the list or most people's LJ's because I'm tired of the Clark-bashing. It makes fandom not fun for me.
