Ever wonder if the whole Smurf/Gargamel relationship was really a veganism argument in disguise?

And have I discussed how I think the episode where they Smurfs all turned purple and jumped around was really a metaphor for AIDS?

I hate you. Deep thoughts about the Smurfs. OMG.

#1 makes sense to me. It could totally be seen as that kind of an argument. #2 however, I can't remember that episode.

Also, did I mention that I hate you for this? :D

Sorry for making you think deep thoughts about the Smurfs. :)

Purple Smurf, if you're interested. Otherwise, the basic plot is Lazy Smurf gets bit by some kind of purple fly. This causes him to turn purple and jump around shouting, "G-NAP!" He then proceeds to infect all the others Smurfs with the G-NAP virus by biting them on the tail/butt. Eventually, they all get infected, and Papa Smurf succumbs, but, luckily, the antidote explodes and saves the village.

So, the reasons I keep thinking it might have been a metaphor for AIDS:

1. It's a virilunt disease that spreads quickly
2. It's spread through anal contact.
3. Let's face it, all the Smurfs are gay anyway (except Smurfette)
4. It ends with Papa Smurf declaring, "I love you all just the way you are," or something similar.

So, yeah. That's my thoughts.

OMG. I don't want it to, because, again, *deep thoughts* about *the Smurfs*, but your explanation makes a LOT of sense to me. :D
