But that's neither here nor there. Because I love the character with a lot of my heart and all.
But I figured out what bugs me about her crush on the Doctor.
Okay, with Rose, she was all in awe of everything around her. Look, it's the future! Wow! Look, it's the past! Brilliant! We're home and there's aliens! Absolutely amazing!!!!!
And, the man by her side? Oh, yeah, he's great, too. And, oh, sure, she's terribly attracted to him. And, yes, once he stops resembling someone who might, possibly, maybe be old enough to be her father and turns into this young foxy fox, it's hella fun to flirt up a storm and just... ooze love all over the place, right?
But... look! There's New New York! And a werewolf! And, oh, look at that! How cool!
For Rose, the traveling was always first and foremost on her mind. Then her heart.
Martha? Oh, yeah, it's all interesting and stuff, but she seems more into the Doctor than the actual traveling. And that just... brings her down a bit. Bogs down the story. In the first ep, she was wonderful, because she was all, "Wow. I'm on the Moon!" and then "Oi. You're cute." But after that, I don't know. It just seems like she's less impressed by everything and way more impressed with the Doctor. Which isn't as much fun.
Anyway. That's my thoughts. Don't hate in here. I don't care.
