Hannibal would eat me for being rude
Jun. 4th, 2013 04:32 pmSorry for not replying to comments. Just started tech week for the play, plus it's the last few days of school (two more days!!!! And guess who got a new student today?)
Anyway, when people tell me that they don't watch Hannibal because it's too hard to imagine anyone as Hannibal after Anthony Hopkins, I want to tell them to shut the fuck up because 1) they're stupid, 2) Hopkins kinda always bugged me as Lecter (I think I read the book first) and, c) that's such a stupid argument that we need to get past (especially from an actor). I mean, I freely admit that I was against Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy because I loved Deforest Kelley so much, but, you know what? Star Trek is different from ToS and it's a different character and interpretation. Same with Sherlock Holmes. And... other remakes and things (like BSG; and Batman; and Superman). People are willing to give those a chance.
So, yeah. If someone uses that argument, it is invalid.
